Women have been a favorite subject of artists since the dawn of time, and like many sculptors I 've always been entranced by the female form. Whether shes a comic book amazon, damsel-in-distress, or a B-movie scream queen, capturing feminine beauty in clay can be a major challenge. It takes great care and a lot of practice. But one can't ask for a sweeter chore.
During the mid-nineties, I was frequently approached to do a sculpture of a B-movie actress or model, catering to the requests of their many admiring fans for a kit. I got
to know some of these girls on a personal level, and had a terrific time working with them. Here are some of my more successful attempts at the alluring female figure.
