FORBIDDEN VALLEY:
A Valley of Gwangi tribute
This short film was created through traditional hand-built models and stop-motion animation. It serves as both prequel and tribute to the 1969 Ray Harryhausen sci-fi western ‘The Valley of Gwangi”, and features a day in the life of the titular ‘big lizard’, just prior to the events in the movie.
It was created over a period of eight months, and shot in a makeshift bedroom studio using an iPhone, iPad and Stop-Motion Studio app. I labored to reproduce the look of the original models, and made use of the same music score, sound effects, and locations whenever possible.
It’s available to view on YouTube via the button below:
This is a work of fan-fiction, and I claim no ownership of the rights of the original motion picture.
“The Valley of Gwangi” is available to rent on Amazon PRIME, Fandango, and YouTube.
